When asked by Mountain State Spotlight “What’s one thing you want West Virginia voters to know about your platform?” the candidate replied:
I am for open government, we should always be accessible and ready to address concerns of the people open and honestly. Transparency, I believe in the role as auditor, we need to work better to provide access to West Virginia checkbooks that makes accessing and review information easier for taxpayers. We need to disclose revenues and expenses of every organization that received taxpayer money directly or indirectly through federal, state, and local taxes. Increasing transparency, permitting the taxpayers to have greater access to see where their money is being spent, will naturally help reduce fraud and abuse.
